Places to Visit Around Lake Yamanakako / Oshino: Swan Lake

Healing 01 Apr, 2017

Besides Lake Yamanakako, there are many places that are surrounded by a wealth of nature, such us Hana no Miyako Koen Park and Oshino Hakkai, which is designated a National Natural Monument.

Pleasure boat “Swan Lake” has been designed around the image of Japan’s most beautiful swans floating on Lake Yamanakako at the foot of Mt. Fuji, which is Japan’s tallest mountain.

This big pleasure boat is evocative of the shape of the whistling swan and the whooper swan, the two species that often come to this lake to pass the winter. Inside the boat, you will find binocular telescopes to enjoy the view and a seat with a handle and a panoramic view where only children can sit and get a taste of what it’s like to be the captain of the boat. In addition, you can also have a cup of coffee with Mt. Fuji-shaped cookies on the side!

Enjoy the breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji from the water, while gliding like a swan on the surface of gentle Lake Yamanakako. (The tour takes about 25 minutes to finish.)
If you come during winter you will also have the chance to meet the real swans!
